Mission
The good days of the internet never disappeared. Being anonymous is just more fun!
Dots is a music exchange platform that exists to strip music sharing back to what matters: the song, the feeling, and the human on the other side.
How we protect that
- Barcode usernames — strings like
IlllllllllIIlIllllIlIlIlIlIl, borrowed from Starcraft's naming culture. Stalking someone is hard by design. - No search, no suggestions — you can't look someone up. If you want to share your profile, you pass the link yourself.
- Identity-free discovery — when identity is quiet, attention becomes honest. We listen with fewer assumptions, share with less fear, and surface music that would never survive algorithmic ranking.
Principles & Rules
- This is an experiment social app and bound to change
- You only get what you put out!
- Keep discovery personal.
- Keep exchange human.
- Keep chats free of hate.
- It's fine to banter/talk shit/cuss
- Ban hammer has hands
- It's not fine to personally attack
- IP and phone number ban
The promise
Give a song, receive a song, leave a trace of feeling, then step back into the crowd. The point is not ownership. The point is resonance.
Spread peace, we're Human After All ✌️
